Bell/Cranston Wedding

Lynne & Rik were married in a ceremony at Belfast Castle, one of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular wedding venues. Lynne was a lovely bride, who thoroughly enjoyed her day – happiness was written large over this wedding! The wedding was relaxed and enjoyable –even for me!

The weather was super for March – possibly the best day of the month. Just a skiff of rain after the ceremony kept us indoors for a half hour or so, which we put to good use doing group shots against the Castle fireplace. Later we got out into the garden and did the usual shots of the spiral staircase, the fountain, patio and steps.

I went back in the evening to capture the shot shown on this page. I exposed for the ambient light reflected off the castle itself then lit the bride and groom using flash. This mixture of flash and ambient light produced a truly spectacular result. Well done Nikon – their Creative Lighting System makes these things possible!
